Last week I shared the top “Power Lunch” spot in Los Angeles, Soho House in Hollywood, but the concept of a power lunch isn’t limited to L.A. Here are a few more top spots around the country.
San Francisco – The Rotunda
Located on the top floor of Neiman Marcus, set beneath a landmark stained-glass dome and overlooking the city’s Union Square. A favorite of the charity social circuit, it’s the perfect choice since they’re often in the area making a special order dress for upcoming galas and events.
New York City – The Grill Room at The Four Seasons
Known as one of the greatest rooms in the city, this only-in-Manhattan phenomenon has floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides and French walnut paneled walls on the others. it features a bi-level design, shimmering chain curtains and two iconic Richard Lippold sculptures. Not just great for power lunches, The Grill Room is ideal for cocktail parties and has hosted of book parties, Grammy celebrations and recent performances by Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Gloria Gaynor, Crosby & Stills and Diego Garcia.
Las Vegas – Tableau
Tucked away at the Wynn Tower Suites is the bright and elegant American-style restaurant Tableau, a modern French-influenced American cuisine restaurant. It has the feel of a private dining room overlooking the pools and the fact that it’s not so well-known makes it an ideal spot to conduct business.
Miami – Juvia
Located in a penthouse in Miami’s Art Deco District, Juvia offers sweeping views of the city and a clientele comprised of beautiful models and artists. The restaurant features a unique vertical garden designed by botanist Patrick Blanc and the menu from former Nobu Chef Sunny Oh, blends Japanese tastes with French techniques and Peruvian accents for amazing ceviches, steaks and seafood.
Atlanta – The Optimist
The Optimist’s website greets you with the words I’ve laid aside business and gone a’ fishing… which certainly doesn’t sound like the motto for a Power lunch restaurant. However, that might just be what entrepreneurs, designers and actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Owen Wilson find so appealing about this new restaurant. Chef owner Ford Fry’s seafood is cooked over a wood fire, a large oyster bar serves up fresh mollusk and beignet-style hushpuppies help to create a comfortable atmosphere that encourages conversation.
