Flooring has a large impact on the feel of a space and defining the style of your home. With so many options out there, which do you choose? Carpet? Tile? Hardwood? All can be splendid and luxurious. Here are five beautiful flooring trends for your home.

Gorgeous floors can transform a room.
Hardwood Patterns
Hardwood floors are by no means new, but they are most definitely a classic. A trend that has seen a resurgence is parquet patterns, like chevron or herringbone. Along with finish and texture, a pattern truly makes your flooring unique to your home. It can add serious WOW factor.

Encaustic (Cement) Tiles
This may seem like a rather new trend in flooring, but encaustic tiles have been around for centuries. A carefully selected pattern chosen to complement your home’s style will make this a timeless and exquisite choice.

Salvaged & Reclaimed Wood
This trend is here to stay. The idea that you can take something centuries old and reuse it in a new and beautiful manner is just wonderful. The warmth and character these woods bring to your home are unequaled and the stories behind them are terrific conversation topics at your next dinner party.

Mixed Flooring
Mixed flooring used to be only the result of transitions in spaces. For instance in an open great room, how to transition from the kitchen tile to the family room carpet/wood? Well, mixed flooring has grown up some and become a design choice unto itself. The creativity and character the choices can bring to a room are endless. Mix wood with tile in various shapes and sizes. Add a gold metal seam between tiles or wood slats. Let hexagonal marble tile run deep into wood planks. Tailor it to your style however you choose!
