Luxury Home Design: Blurring the Line Between Indoors and Out

For the most part, those of us who call Southern California home are able to enjoy mild, beautiful weather all year long. Well designed decks and patios create additional living space, and luxury home builders are incorporating architectural elements that allow the indoor living to expand and blend with outdoor spaces. The results are stunningly beautiful.

This beautiful home in Encino is a great example of a home designed to blur the line between indoors and out.

Indoor outdoor space in homes, patios, open concept homes

This gorgeous newly constructed home features high ceilings and Fleetwood sliding doors which open to the pool, spa, built-in BBQ and sprawling backyard with a meditation area and fire pit. Mature landscaping provides a park-like setting that encloses the whole property. It’s difficult to tell where the indoors ends and the outdoors begins.

This amazing Pacific Palisades home boasts spectacular ocean views from every room, so it only makes sense to bring the outdoors in.

Again, retractable doors open up the living spaces to let in the ocean breeze and make an already spacious room seem even larger.

Fleetwood doors, open to outdoor patio

The view from the outside, looking in, still feels as if it is a part of the interior.

I’m loving the open living room and kitchen at this beautiful Cape Cod style home in Santa Monica. I love how it’s light, bright and spacious, yet still very warm and intimate.

The lovely French doors create a welcoming invitation to step out into the beautiful backyard, and make this already generously sized room seem even bigger!

This stunning home in Pacific Palisades opens up to beautiful patios and ocean views. Truly spectacular!

Floor to ceiling windows, ocean views, luxury home

How beautiful is a room that has blurred the line between indoor and outdoor spaces!
