Romantic Things to Do In Los Angeles

Your sweetheart will love these romantic things to do in Los Angeles!

When you mention “romantic destinations”, most people’s thoughts go to Paris or Venice. Those are romantic destinations, but you don’t have to travel so far from home to find romance. From beach getaways to mountain retreats, private sunset flights to champagne spa baths, Los Angeles has plenty to offer and is definitely a romantic destination. Here are just a few of the most romantic things to do in Los Angeles.

Go for a Gondola Ride

Yes, you can take a gondola ride in the waters of Southern California! Take an intimate gondola ride for two, where you have the option of adding on a wine and cheese appetizer or taking on a full meal. There are multiple gondola operators to choose from, so you have a variety of locations, routes and course lengths to choose from. Gondola Getaway is in Long Beach, Gondola Company is located in Newport Beach, and Gondola Amore is in Redondo Beach.

Dinner with a View

Fine dining options abound in the LA area, but the most romantic places to eat offer beautiful views of the city, the skyline, and the sunset. Restaurants with lush gardens offer the romantic feeling of seclusion, as well. One pick for romantic restaurants with a view is Yamashiro, where you can choose between a patio seat with a great view of Hollywood or a cozy garden table. Another romantic option is Geoffrey’s Malibu, which has been voted one of LA’s best proposal sites. Can’t get into these two? See my other picks for romantic restaurants in Los Angeles here.

A Quiet Stroll Through a Beautiful Garden

Sometimes the most romantic thing is just being together, and walking hand in hand in a garden is a sweet way to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just enjoy each other’s company. There are many beautiful public gardens in the area to choose from. The Getty Villa and The Arboretum are just two of the local options to consider.

Visit a Couples Spa Together

Visit a boutique day spa together and indulge in a couples massage. Many spas offer the expected couples options: a variety of massages, salt scrubs, and facial treatments. Some spas offer more unique experiences. Tikkun’s Couples Tantra Journey starts with heart opening Tanrtic meditation in an onyx chamber. After that, receive a guided lesson for how to give your partner a unique massage, followed by a relaxing couples massage. Wrap the experience up with a Tantric bathing ritual in the spa tub for two.

Horseback Ride

You can actually sweep your partner off their feet with this romantic experience! Enjoy a sunset horseback ride together on the beach or ride the trails in the moonlight. Los Angeles Horseback Riding has the perfect basecamp, located at the top ridge of the Santa Monica Mountains. Breathtaking views are available in every direction from the top of their trails. They offer romantic packages, as well.

These are just a few ideas of romantic things you can do in Los Angeles. Now you just have to decide which one you most want to do first!
