Temecula Valley: Wine Tasting, Fine Dining, and More

Temecula Valley: Wine Tasting, Fine Dining, and More

In the heart of Southern California’s wine country, the Temecula Valley is a perfect location for a luxurious getaway. The area boasts more than 30 fantastic wineries, which create award-winning wines year-round. Head to Temecula for a vacation that will recharge your batteries with great food, delicious wines, and gorgeous views.

Temecula Valley Wine

The majority of Temecula Valley wineries make only a small quantity of each vintage – not enough for national distribution. So, you won’t often find our wines in grocery stores or wine shops; they’re mostly available to visitors via winery tasting rooms (or websites – shipping varies by state). That means, when you buy a bottle to take home, you’re bringing back something truly unique!

Because of Southern California’s gorgeous weather, the climate is perfect for growing a wide variety of grapes. This means Temecula Valley wineries are able to produce your favorite wine varieties, from Cabernet Sauvignon to Riesling.

Wineries

Over 30 wineries populate the region’s rolling hills and sprawling valleys producing a variety of wines, including award-winning and artisan Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.

Visiting the valley’s wineries is a wonderful experience. You can choose to explore the wineries at your own speed, or you can join one of the area’s guided winery tours. If you choose to visit wineries on your own, be sure you visit each winery’s website to find information about tasting room and tour hours.

Shopping

Every great vacation needs to make time for some retail therapy. Old Town Temecula features a charming shopping area, all accessible via wooden boardwalks. The historic storefronts now house antique shops, boutiques, and other fun stores for you to patronize. Head to the Promenade Temecula for modern retail shopping at stores like Coach and Williams Sonoma.

Hot Air Ballooning

One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Temecula Valley is by hot air balloon. Riders of a sunrise flight will enjoy panoramic views of the rolling hills, vineyards, local estates and more. Contact one of the areas hot air balloon charters for information about availability and pricing.

Spas

Has all the local adventure worn you out? It must be time for a relaxing spa day! Book a few spa treatments at one of the region’s many spas to rejuvenate and reinvigorate you.

Fine Dining

Temecula is known for its wine, but the area’s restaurants create dishes that pair perfectly with a local vintage. Many of the local wineries have their own on-site restaurants, like the Bel Vino Winery and the Callaway Winery. If you are in the mood for delicious seafood, both the Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar and the Bluewater Grill are great options.

Still looking for the perfect California retreat for a stay this year? I’ve chosen my favorite resorts that will put you in that California state of mind.
