My family and I just returned from a week in paradise: Maui. We stayed at the Grand Wailea in their Ho’olei community. Grand Wailea is the ultimate luxury Maui resort. Owned by the Waldorf Astoria, these luxury beachfront accommodations sit on forty acres of lush tropical gardens, has sweeping views from Wailea Beach, a spectacular pool area and divine dining.
The Ho’olei luxury villas feature finely appointed interiors, modern kitchens, private elevators, attached garages and exclusive services. A spectacular home away from home in paradise.
In addition to the Ho’olei community, The Grand Wailea boasts a variety of rooms and suites, all luxuriously appointed with amazing views of the grounds and beaches.
My husband, Don Diamont and I took our three youngest sons along on the trip, their first to Hawaii. They boys loved it all, especially the gorgeous pool area.
Of course when in Hawaii, you absolutely must sip a fruity drink from a souvenir cup while relaxing by the pool.
One of the other things one simply must do is to attend a traditional luau. We attended the Grand Luau at Honua’lua. This traditional luau tells the story of Hawaii through chant and hula dancing to bring the history of Maui to life.
It was a magical evening and we highly recommend it.
The Grand Wailea boasts award winning golf courses and we had a wonderful day on the links, playing the Blue Course.
Referred to as “The Grand Lady of Wailea”, the Blue Course is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Haleakala and was designed by Arthur Jack Snyder. This course offers stunning natural beauty and panoramic views of Maui, the Pacific Ocean and Haleakala, a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the island.
If you want to catch an aerial view of the volcano and the Haleakala crater, there is nothing like a helicopter tour of the island.
The Grand Wailea concierge services can assist with all kinds of activities and Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours did not disappoint!
In addition to luaus, helicopter tours and golf excursions, the Grand Wailea offers excursions for snorkeling, diving, surfing, bicycle tours. Want a more relaxing option? Visit the luxurious spa or take a yoga class. Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea is the best spa on Maui and one of the most luxurious resort spas in Hawaii. Voted “Top 10 Spas in the United States” by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure magazines, the 50,000 square-foot spa is the largest spa in Hawaii and offers 40 treatment rooms has an Exclusive Terme Hydrotherapy Circuit, a unique haven of water therapies featuring a Roman tub, saunas, cascading waterfalls, Swiss jet showers, a Japanese furo and five specialty baths, as well as an extensive menu of soothing massage, facial and body care treatments and therapies.
And then again? There are always the magical and relaxing beaches.
Have you been to the Grand Wailea? What did you think?
